Our Mission

The Elmont East End Civic Association exists to unite neighbors, advocate for transparent leadership, improve the quality of life for all residents, and build a safer, stronger, and more vibrant East End through collaboration, service, and community pride.

Our History

Elmont East End Civic Association was founded in the 1940s to represent and serve the residents of the Elmont East End community. For generations, the Association has been a strong community voice in the development of local schools, the library, and many of the businesses and services that helped shape the Elmont community. During the massive post-World War II suburban housing boom, the Association played an important role in organizing residents and working with Town and County officials to address local infrastructure, zoning, development, and the growing needs of the community.

During the 1950s, when most households had only one automobile, Elmont was a very different community. As the neighborhood grew and changed, the East End Civic remained an important forum for residents to come together, voice their concerns, and work collectively to improve their community.

Since the 1970s, Pat Nicolosi and Ralph Esposito served as dedicated leaders and longtime voices of the Elmont East End Civic Association. Following Pat Nicolosi’s passing in 2022, Frank Hrbek, alongside Ralph Esposito, continued to serve as familiar faces and advocates for the East End community. Their commitment helped preserve the civic’s longstanding tradition of community involvement.

Like many community organizations, the civic experienced a period of inactivity during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as of August 2026, the Elmont East End Civic Association has been revived and is ready to once again provide a voice for the residents of the East End.

Under the guidance of a dedicated and well-diversified Board of Directors, the Association is committed to helping, guiding, assisting, and serving the residents of Elmont East End. The revived civic looks forward to building upon its proud history while creating new opportunities for community engagement, collaboration, advocacy, and neighborhood improvement.

The Elmont East End Civic Association is more than an organization — it is part of the community’s history and a continuing voice for the people who call Elmont East End home.
