The Elmont East End Civic Association, inactive since before the pandemic, has been re-established under President Elizabeth Forbes and Vice President Natasha Warburton-Welch. In less than a month, the association grew to 74 members and began preparing for regular meetings and a broader presence throughout eastern Elmont.
The association's history dates back to the 1940s. Following the death of former president Pat Nicolosi in 2022, the group continued under Ralph Esposito as president and Frank Hrbek as vice president before going inactive.
The revived association's goal is to give residents of the East End a clear place to turn when neighborhood issues arise, and to connect neighbors with resources, information, and one another.
